Women's bodies must never be a battleground for Politics again! The longer our sexuality, gender, and physical bodies are on the line for public debate, the longer it will take us to achieve freedom politically, psychologically, and personally.
For volunteer
opportunities please contact Freedom of Reproductive Rights Amendment (FRRA) to the United States Constitution stands for equal access to Family Planning and Reproductive Healthcare, Sexual Education, Medical Research, and Freedom from Population Control for everyone in the United States of America. Equal Access to Family Planning and
Reproductive Healthcare Equal Access to Sexual Education Young people living in conservative, religious, and intolerant environments are often neglected open communication and access to accurate, medically-sound sexual information. In these environments, children do not learn about their bodies in a way that would help prevent them from being exposed to sexually transmitted infection, unwanted pregnancy and sexual violence. Teens do not learn how to communicate about sex, which builds bridges and grows intimacy. As a result of fear of sexuality, many people do not form healthy bonds that could one day lead to meaningful partnerships and marriage. Americans in many areas in America do not have equal access to sexual education relative to other, perhaps more urban, Americans who are taught sexual education in schools and communities. We are giving our young men and women growing up in Middle America a disservice and disadvantage by promoting ineffective abstinence-only rhetoric. Sex is not wrong, it is human. Sexual violence is wrong and people must be taught the difference. Uneducated people are far more likely to make mistakes regarding their sexual health, due to ignorance. Equal Access to Medical Research Without unrestricted Stem Cell Research, Americans are unable to reach their full-potential. Cruelly, those who suffer from diabetes, cancer, Parkinson's disease, spinal cord injury and other forms of chronic pain are denied cures, because of religious discriminative ideology. Stem cell medicine has been called the best scientific breakthrough since antibiotics in the 1920s. Other nations are leading the way toward progress as the United States fails to deliver enough support to compete effectively in the world. This is not only bad for our people who could heal, but bad for our economy monetarily. Stem cells can be an active ingredient in pharmaceutical drugs but are undeveloped due to political rejection. FRRA fights for equal access to medical research. The current restrictions on potential cures and other benefits researchers can discover with stem cells is based on religion and does not apply to other types of medical research. For example, anyone willing could essentially participate in research projects related to AIDS, cancer (apart from stem cell medicine), addiction, heart disease, and many, many other illnesses for whatever possible cures, treatments, and/or healing possibilities are available. Any discoveries would be promoted as great science. This is not true for stem cell researchers who do not have equal access to funding, experimentation and application. We must understand this discrimination based on religion and stand up against it. Most of the world could one day be positively affected by stem cell research and we owe it to ourselves to try to save lives. Freedom from Population Control The Freedom of Reproductive Rights Amendment allows women and men to have as many children as they want, in the event population control legislation becomes a significant threat. For example, if New York City becomes over-populated, and politicians enact laws mandating women and men can only have one child, as they did in China, FRRA would protect families from child restrictive legislation. It seems unfathomable that we should care about this aspect of reproductive rights today, but we must take precaution, as history does repeat itself and overpopulation, a growing concern. All Americans must have the reproductive freedom and legal rights to pursue a happy family.
In conclusion, until Americans pass the Freedom of Reproductive Rights Amendment, we will continue to suffer dictatorship of our bodies, government regulation of our sexuality, and domestic injustice. The psychological well-being of our nation relies on freedom from threat, oppression and violence. Using a woman's body as a battle ground for politics is a violation. We must put an end to it. Only then will women understand freedom. Subtle negative messages are spoken to women and men when our bodies are on the front lines of politics. This must end. America needs to mature and become a stronger, more tolerant nation. We must promote a healthy American sexual identity. We must promote birth control for those who want it and freedom from population control for those who don't. We must promote sexual education and pregnancy healthcare and support safe birthing methods. Safe abortions are not only our moral right, they are our physical right. We can not allow women's bodies to be the battle ground for sensationalist news. We must have the American right to use our own minds, with access to information and the power to carry out a cure. Men and women deserve better. Men need to rise and claim their reproductive rights. They need to be educated and their bodies taken care of, knowing all the while it is women's bodies that are the scapegoats for control. Everyone must stand together and declare, Women's bodies must never be a battleground for Politics again! - Jodi Leib, founder of the Freedom of Reproductive Rights Amendment Support FRRA today!
