National Karma Talk It Out Sessions About Talk It Out Featured Band About Jodi Leib Love is Mystical Movie Theater March for Women's Lives Contact Jodi

Today's a really lucky day today.  I had the pleasure of seeing a great show tonight at The Cutting Room in Manhattan.  I saw Nathan Angelo, Andy Davis and Josh Hoag...individually three terrific vocalists and performers, and together a triumph of falsetto 70's meets gen y boy bands meets grungy city guys. Hot y'all.

I've been wanting to post this for a long time.  And, I already know you're going to think I'm crazy or Jodi or weird or whatever skeptical thing you'd say about me.  This is the truth.  I discovered a new chakra.  It's the soul mate chakra and it's on the rib.  If you're into chakras you'd know they are powerful energy centers on our bodies.  If you understand energy, you'll know that energy gets trapped in the body from stress, life experience, and drama/pain/suffering.  If you massage your chakras, you can get out this blocked negative energy and give your body peace.  I do this.  I massage my chakras before I go to bed.  This is not porno so don't get any ideas.  Sometimes if I haven't said something I've needed to say, I rub the pain out of my throat area.  If my vision is strong, so strong I have a headache, I rub my forehead between my eyes.  If I have pain in my career, like I've had lately in working with very difficult personalities, then I rub out the bullshit from my solar plexus and wear yellow as a form of color therapy.  It works - try it.  Study the chakras and their color properties and do it yourself.  It's awesome!  Which leads me to how I discovered the soul mate chakra....

I was massaging my broken heart chakra oh about a month or so ago.  I was depressed because I'm in a love transition now and really healing from very dysfunctional relationships I've had in the past.  You know the ones that give back pain?  No matter what I did, how I changed for the better, I still got the same result - disrespect and neglect.  Over and over again, I found myself wondering why I wasn't good enough, what I didn't do right, why I'm so unattractive, etc...you know the bull.  Finally, I let this and some other similar relationships go, because I deserve better.  I really do.  But I missed the old me that craves attention even if momentary.  My heart was broke because I wished so much the other person would change for the better and my heart was so sad, I had to rub out the pain.  But then I realized, it wasn't really my heart that ached.  Perhaps I simply didn't care anymore...all my care was gone, it had washed away with the last unreturned phone call.  Was I so desensitized?  Had I lost all my care?  Four years ago I would have done anything to be loved by him, and today I really need to know someone loves me...not just anyone, but someone I love.  I can't beg anymore...right? I know, you're saying "Go girl!"  It's not that easy when you're in the throws of an addictive fantasy with an abusive twin flame.  It's just not that fucking easy to forget and let go.  It's not that easy to not remember the passion and the beating drum that lit our hearts and bodies, the one that makes you feel the sexiest you've ever felt in your life, that one, the one that makes you melt and creates a feeling irreplaceable.  That one that doesn't fucking work.  I felt nothing.  No pain there.  My heart was open.

As my hand moved away from my heart, it wandered toward the pain and onto my right ribcage.  Suddenly, I felt it!  An epicenter of pain.  A source so large and bold, so neglected before, so untouched, I knew this cavernous whole of an energy center could only be a chakra...it was so sore.  My rib ached for my soul mate, my lost love, the man of my dreams, the one who makes me cry over and over again.  And so I did, I cried like a baby.  Now, I believe in myself.  You can't right that you discovered a chakra unless you really believe in yourself wholeheartedly.  That's why I'm so sad.  Why doesn't he believe in me?  Or is he the wrong man?  Why won't I love the one who does.  I feel guilty.  I am haunted.  I rub it out.  All the loneliness.  All the misery.  All the "what could have been's" and all the "why can't it be's."  Fucking, love sucks, man.  And that's what Nathan Angelo has to say.  I hope he will join us on Talk It Out soon.  He's incredible and I want to ask him about his take on world love these days.  World love is important.

So I just wanted to share with you there is a new chakra and it's the soul mate chakra, on your right ribcage.  At least, that's where it is on mine.  If you're dying to connect with your soul mate, you'll feel it.  Maybe there are chakras all along the horizontal plane of our bodies (and not just vertically along the spine).  Who knows?  The science of spirituality and bioenergy is still so new.  I hope I am a pioneer in this field.

By the way, the rib is a huge source of symbolism in religion so it totally makes sense the rib is where we would feel intense longing for our other halves.  If you're biblical, you know woman was created from Adam's rib.  Or so the story goes.  I googled "rib symbolism" and this is what I found...see...

Zohar: Chapter VII Symbolism of the Divine Life and Human Destiny...(in part)

Here Rabbi Eleazar asked a question: "What was the great object of life with an Israelite during the time of Moses?"

"Eleazar, my son," replied Rabbi Simeon, "why dost thou ask such a question as this? Hast thou not read and studied the words of Scripture? 'I am he who declares the end from the beginning and from ancient times the things that are not yet done'" (Is. xlvi. 10).

"Yes," replied Rabbi Eleazar, "and I recognize them as true."

This is why we are taught by tradition that Moses is not dead and is therefore called "man," of whom it is said: "There was not found a helpmeet for him" (Gen. ii. 20). But everything

p. 143

was against him and he found no help in bringing the Schekina out of captivity as it is written: "And he looked this way and that way and he saw there was no man" (Ex. ii. 12). At that moment, scripture saith: "And the Lord God caused a deep28a sleep to fall upon the man and He took one of the ribs and closed up the flesh thereof" (Gen. ii. 21). "The Lord God" denotes the Divine Being as father and Mother; "a deep sleep" the captivity, which is also the meaning of the words "a deep sleep fell upon Abraham" (Gen. xv. 12). "And He took one of the ribs"--from whom? From the virgins of the Matrona. The divine Father and Mother took a virgin from the white or right side of her, designated in scripture as "fair as the moon" (Cant. vi. 10). "And closed up the flesh in its place," signifying the union of the celestial with the animal nature of man. The words "for that he also is flesh" (Gen. vi. 3), refer to Moses, whose physical form radiated light golden hued like that of the sun, as it is written: "The face of Moses was as the face of the Sun," whilst that of the virgin of the right side was like the moon. Therefore scripture saith: "Thou art fair as the moon and clear as the sun" (Cant. vi. 10). Another signification of the words, "And closed up the flesh in its place" is that the Father and Mother wished to protect (vaisgor) her, as it is written: "And the Lord shut (vaisgor) him in (Gen. vii. 16).

"And of the rib which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man" (Gen. ii. 23). In this verse is an allusion to the mystery of the marital affinity. We are taught that when this affinity is ignored and disregarded the consequences are most injurious. The Holy One in his operations has worked on the law of affinity, as it is written: "The Lord (IHVH) hath built Jerusalem" (Ps. cxlvii. 2). The V in the divine name IHVH is the son or child of I and H, the Father and the Mother, to whom scripture refers: "And the Lord God made of the rib which he had taken from man." This rib denotes the middle column in the sephirotic Tree of Life symbol of the virgin, of whom it is written: "For I, saith Jehovah, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her" (Zech. ii. 5).

It is for this reason that the future temple, glorified and perfected humanity, built and formed by the Holy One, will endure forever. It is of this temple that scripture speaks. The glory of this latter house shall be greater than that of the former (Hag. ii. 9), which was built by man's hands, but this shall be

p. 144

built by the Holy One, and is alluded to by the Psalmist:28a-28b "Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it" (Ps. cxxvii. 1). The words "And the Lord God formed the rib he had taken" equally apply to Moses, who, when building the tabernacle in the wilderness, foresaw the future tabernacle God would form, as it is written: "And for the second side (rib) of the tabernacle on the north side there shall be twenty boards" (Ex. xxvi. 20). The north side here refers to the side of the sephirotic tree called Chesed (mercy), and known as the white side. "And closed up the flesh thereof." The word flesh signifies the red side of the tree which is called Geburah (power), and at this time were fulfilled the words: "His left hand is under my head and his right hand doth embrace me" (Cant. ii. 6), as also the words: "This is now bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh." She shall be called ashah because she was taken from aish (man), that is to say, that the virgin humanity is a union of the man or father representing the male principle, with the mother, representing the female principle.

When the temple just referred to is completed, each individual will find his companion or mate-soul predestined from the beginning to become united with him, and then will be realized the words of the prophet: "And I will also give you a new heart and a new spirit will I put within you" (Ezech. xxxv. 26), as also the words of another prophet: "And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions" (Joel ii. 28), alluding to the renewed state of humanity in the future, as tradition expresses it. The son of David or the Messiah will not appear until all souls now incarnating shall have reached perfection and accomplished their destiny, and those who have lost their Higher Self and have failed to become united with it shall be exterminated from the world. "And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed" (Gen. ii. 25), referring to the time when licentiousness and sensuality shall disappear and vanish out of the world and nothing exist causing a sense of shame and immodesty.

(I don't have permission to reprint this text, but I don't care right now...let me know if there is a problem, okay? Although, if it's directly from the Zohar, then it's older than the 75 year copyright law anyway.)

So anyway, I'm no bible thumper, I'm just trying to prove to you that it's the right side...I really feel it.  This is the ancient story of the soul mate and it came from the rib, and when you're missing your soul mate like I do, we can rub it and make the pain go away, but it doesn't really work because I'm still sad and no matter what I do, this longing doesn't go away.

Anyway...xoxo, and much love.  Love is Mystical.  Jodi
